It's that time again
Labels:
sale
It's time for my annual Stock Up and Save Sale! (I refuse to call it a Christmas in July sale because that requires that I think about Christmas presents, and I'm just not ready for that yet! :) )
Just in time for the sale, I've added 10-yard skein and 50-yard skein options to all my thread sets - the sale stacks on top of the usual 10% discount for these sets!
What are you waiting for? Head over to the shop now and start shopping!

June Petite Club Sneak Peek
Labels:
Petite Club,
sneak peek
I was so happy to open the mailbox on Saturday and find the package of silk for June's Petite Club exclusive colorways. I thought the photos of these colorways were stunning, but they are even better in person!

This week's Special Edition thread is headed to the beach
Labels:

This week's Special Edition thread, SE 1220, was a brand new fiber combination for me - merino wool and seacell, which is a cellulose fiber made from seaweed. I love the way it turned out:
The seacell gives the thread a healthy bit of shine, similar to using bamboo, but I ended up with a softer and lighter thread that I get from my merino/bamboo blend. The colors on this one remind me of seashells on the beach (appropriate, I thought, since it is a fiber from the sea!), so I stuck with the theme for this week's Special Edition Thread & Fiber Pack:
For the additional threads, I picked two merino/bamboo threads that picked up on the neutrals and blues in the Special Edition: Frosted Ash Beige and Frosted Blueberry. When it came to the fabric, I picked 36 count Vintage Mourning Dove by Lakeside Linens, since it has always looked like seafoam to me!
This week's Special Edition Thread & Fabric Pack will only be available until Friday evening (or while supplies last), so grab yours from the shop and stitch yourself a little beach scene while we wait for summer!

May's New Handspun Thread Releases are Live
Labels:

It's the 18th of the month, which means it's New Releases Day in the shop! This month I have 10 fabulous new colorways of 100% mulberry silk for you, available in both my petite and regular styles. The links below each image will take you right to that colorway page in the shop.
I've also updated the Complete Mulberry Collection set, which now contains 40 colorways!
Lastly, don't forget today is the last day to grab one of this week's Special Edition Thread & Fabric Packs - this week's Special Edition thread is also a Petite Mulberry thread, so it fits right in with all the lovelies above!
Whew, that's a whole lot of silk! Do you have a favorite? Leave me a comment below and let me know!

WIP Wednesday - I'm 30, now what? Edition
Welcome to another WIP Wednesday, where I share my crafty Works In Progress and we all lament at just how little progress there is! :)
The past week I've really focused on three projects: Christmas Garden, Sylvania, and Flemish Giant. I also managed to put in a few stitches on the Thread Club Stitch-A-Long project (please, don't fall over from shock, it's probably just an anomaly!).
First up, Christmas Garden:
I am so happy with how this is stitching up. Rather than stick with a gold color for the fourth colorway, I decided to go in a "white gold" direction, and am using Petite Woodlands Mushroom. Looks great on the Vintage Pear, doesn't it?
Next, let's take a look at Sylvania:
I started this one on last Saturday, using this week's Special Edition Thread & Fabric pack (hint, hint: I still have a few available, but only until Friday!). While Special Edition 1219P is not the same type of teal-y blue shown in the chart image, I think the color combo still works really well for this chart. The variegation on SE1219P gives it a depth you don't get from solid thread.
And now, my new favorite thing - Flemish Giant:
I am so grateful to Jeanine, Laurie and Jenifer for helping me select a new color palette for this chart - the called for overdyed cottons are just too muted for me. And there was no purple in the original palette, which is just unacceptable for such a large project (at least in my QSnaps!). I'm stitching this on 45 count Vintage Maritime White linen from Lakeside Linens, and it's still going to be almost 10x20 when it's all finished. That will probably be a while, since I stitch so much slower on 45 count. ("Where's the hole? Oh, there's the hole! Nope, wait, was that the right hole?")
Lastly, photographic proof of my Thread Club SAL progress:
This weekend is officially Thread Club SAL weekend, so I will be stitching on this baby more soon. If you are participating in the SAL, schedule yourself some stitching time this weekend, and please share your progress in the Flickr group!
I'd love to see what you've worked on this week, so leave me a link in the comments below!
